Pregnancy can change more than your skin. It can change the way you read every label in the bathroom. Lark & Lull was created with that moment in mind: not to give you another list of things to fear, but to make the products in your ritual easier to understand.
Made with motherhood in mind.
During pregnancy and postpartum, preferences can change.
Skin may feel different. Scents may feel stronger. A routine that once felt simple can suddenly feel like something else to research.
Our response is transparency.
We show complete ingredient lists and build the core of the Lark & Lull ritual around formulas that are intentionally straightforward.
Know the formula.
Choose what feels right for you.
Are Lark & Lull products “pregnancy-safe”?
We do not use “pregnancy-safe” as a blanket medical claim for our entire collection.
Pregnancy is individual, and the Lark & Lull collection includes different formulas, including products containing essential oils and a soap containing fragrance.
If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, have known allergies, or have questions about a particular cosmetic ingredient, we encourage you to review the complete ingredient list and discuss it with your healthcare professional when appropriate.
“Natural” does not automatically mean an ingredient is appropriate for every person or every situation. We believe clear information is more useful than a blanket promise.
What is the simplest formula?
If your personal preference is to minimize the number of ingredients or avoid added fragrance and essential oils, the simplest formula in the collection is our Raw Shea Butter.
One ingredient.
That does not mean it is automatically the correct choice for every person. People with ingredient sensitivities or allergies should always read the label.
And the tallow creams?
Our tallow creams contain five ingredients each.
They begin with beef tallow, organic olive oil and organic jojoba oil, followed by two essential oils specific to each scent.
If essential oils are something you personally prefer to avoid during pregnancy, choose accordingly and speak with your healthcare professional if you have questions.
What about postpartum?
Postpartum life can involve frequent hand washing, changing routines, dry-feeling skin and very little time.
Our philosophy remains the same: a small ritual, a clear ingredient list, and products that are easy to understand.
Lark & Lull products are cosmetics and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions.
Products in our current collection are not specifically marketed for treating cracked or irritated nipples or for ingestion by an infant.
A few practical habits.
- Read the complete ingredient label before first use.
- Follow the directions and warnings on the packaging.
- Patch test when introducing a new cosmetic if you are prone to sensitivity.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
- Keep products out of the eyes.
- Store products as directed.
- Ask your healthcare professional about ingredients you are unsure about.
No fear-based skincare.
We did not build Lark & Lull to tell women that the world around them is toxic.
We built it because reading a label should not require blind trust.
You deserve to know what is there.
Then the choice is yours.
